When things go awry in Tinsel Town, you don’t call the Police you call RAY DONOVAN, L.A.’s best “Professional Fixer” to the rich, the powerful, and the corrupt that also happen to be Hollywood’s elite. The series is set against the background of Los Angeles – a sprawling mecca for the rich and famous and centers on RAY DONOVAN, a recent transplant from Boston. He’s the one man called upon by celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls to make their most complicated and combustible problems disappear. Although, Ray believes he is just in his handlings of these Hollywood opportunists, the LAPD perceives him as a wrongdoer and part of the problem of these entitled schmucks. Ray’s story is further complicated when his father, Mickey Donovan, is unexpectedly released from prison, setting off a chain of events that shakes the Donovan family to its core. Ray is a family man that only wants to love and protect his wife, son and daughter. He’s conflicted by his conventional notions and the reality of a brutally broken world. As he questions and explores his religious beliefs and his inability to abstain from infidelity, Ray eventually has a breakdown.
